Payroll for
Malaysia's web3
economy.

20,000+ workers earn over RM 2.5 billion annually in crypto-denominated salaries across Malaysia, almost entirely through informal channels. MYRT is the first compliant rail that lets that money flow into the local banking system the right way.

From informal
to compliant.

Today, RM 2.5 billion+ in annual web3 payroll flows through informal channels, peer-to-peer trades, OTC desks, foreign exchanges. Workers want to do the right thing. The infrastructure to do so simply hasn't existed. MYRT closes the gap.

TODAY · WITHOUT MYRT
How crypto workers get paid now.
  • Salaries arrive as digital assets or native tokens, outside any local payroll system.
  • Workers convert through peer-to-peer trades, OTC desks, or underground money changers.
  • No EPF, SOCSO, or EIS contributions on these earnings.
  • No LHDN-recognised income records, workers can't prove income for loans, rent, or visas.
  • Funds enter the local banking system through informal channels, raising compliance concerns.
  • Workers vulnerable to scams, frozen accounts, and counterparty risk.
WITH MYRT
Compliant by default.
  • Employer pays via HR partners: global EOR platforms, APAC-focused EORs, or local Malaysian providers.
  • Paid in Ringgit.
  • EPF, SOCSO, EIS handled automatically through the HR partner integration.
  • LHDN-ready year-end forms; full income records for loans, rent, and visa applications.
  • Settles into the worker's existing Malaysian bank account via DuitNow.
  • Worker-side KYC; transactions visible and auditable from end to end.

In annual web3 salaries that could flow through compliant Malaysian channels, supporting EPF, SOCSO, LHDN, and the local banking system, once workers have the infrastructure to make that choice.

EA-FORM READY · LHDN INCOME TRAIL ✓ SETTLED

Year-end forms,
handled at the partner layer.

MYRT does not file taxes. The HR or EOR partner does, the same way they do for any salaried Malaysian worker. What changes is that crypto-denominated income now produces clean, audit-ready paperwork instead of a year of OTC or underground money changer screenshots.

For the employer

Audit-ready filing
  • Form E: Annual return of remuneration paid to all employees, generated automatically per cycle.
  • CP8D: Statement of remuneration, with worker-by-worker breakdown.
  • EPF Form A: Monthly EPF contribution submission for both employer and employee portions.
  • SOCSO & EIS Form 2: Monthly social security and employment insurance returns.
  • PCB Schedular: Monthly tax deduction submitted via the e-PCB portal.
  • HRD levy: 1% levy submission for HRD Corp, where applicable.

For the worker

Income trail you can use
  • EA Form: Year-end statement of earnings, ready for personal e-Filing.
  • EPF i-Saraan record: Month-on-month contributions visible in the KWSP app.
  • Bank-stamped DuitNow trail: Every off-ramp creates a settled credit on a Malaysian bank statement.
  • Loan-application income proof: Six-month rolling payslip history exportable for mortgage and personal loan reviews.
  • Visa & rental documentation: Income certification for landlord vetting and immigration paperwork.
  • De Rantau renewal pack: A consolidated 12-month earnings statement for digital nomad pass renewals.

Who's already earning
in crypto, locally?

Across Malaysia, workers from the world's leading web3 companies are receiving salaries in crypto. These are some of the typical profiles MYRT is designed to serve, drawing salaries denominated in digital assets or native tokens, and converting them into Ringgit they can spend, save, and send.

// PROFILE 01
Smart contract engineer
Bangsar, KL · paid by a US-based protocol

Salary lands in digital assets every two weeks. Today she off-ramps through three different exchanges. Tomorrow it settles to her bank account on payday with full LHDN paperwork.

Digital asset Bi-weekly DuitNow
// PROFILE 02
Product designer
George Town, Penang · paid by a Singapore exchange

Mixed salary: digital asset base plus native token bonuses. Wants the EPF contributions she'd get at any local employer, plus a clean income record when she applies for her next mortgage.

Stable + Native Monthly EPF / SOCSO
// PROFILE 03
DevRel lead
Cyberjaya · paid by an L1 foundation

Travels often, paid in stablecoins. Needs an income trail that satisfies visa officers, landlords, and tax authorities, without the OTC dance every payday.

Digital asset Monthly Visa-ready
// PROFILE 04
Research analyst
Iskandar, Johor · De Rantau pass holder

Long-term resident on the digital nomad pass. Wants to spend locally, save in Ringgit, and stop explaining peer-to-peer trade screenshots to her bank.

Digital asset Monthly De Rantau
// PROFILE 05
Community manager
Subang Jaya · paid by a global L2 team

Hourly contractor paid weekly in digital assets. Needed a way to make weekly micro-payments add up to a clean monthly EA-form line for her side-hustle tax filings.

Digital asset Weekly Form CP58
// PROFILE 06
Senior data scientist
Mont Kiara, KL · paid by an exchange in Dubai

Six-figure digital asset base. Family-sized EPF goals and a big-bank mortgage in progress. Needs the contributions and the clean trail more than anyone, and was paying both PWC and an OTC desk to fake it.

Digital asset Monthly Mortgage-grade

Multi-chain by design,
banked in Malaysia.

MYRT mints on the chains employers and HR partners already use, and settles into Ringgit. Every token in circulation is backed 1:1 by an equivalent MYR deposit, no fractional reserve, no re-hypothecation.

Live on the chains payroll already runs on.

Built for regulators
as much as for workers.

MYRT is a limited-purpose stablecoin, not a yield product, not a speculative asset. Every token is backed 1:1 by Ringgit in segregated accounts, and every transaction is auditable end to end.

1:1 Ringgit reserves

Every MYRT in circulation is backed by an equivalent MYR deposit in segregated accounts. No fractional reserve. No re-hypothecation.

Live transparency

Reserve attestations published on a regular cadence. On-chain supply reconciles with off-chain custody, viewable by partners, regulators, and workers.

KYC at the edge

Worker-side KYC via the HR partner. Off-ramps gated to verified Malaysian bank accounts. A compliant rail by design, not retrofit.

Audit-ready paperwork

Every cycle reconciles cleanly across the partner, the reserves, and the on-chain mint. EA forms, bank statements, and EPF records all trace back to the same payroll batch.

Common questions.

Quick answers to what employers, HR partners, and workers ask first. For anything deeper, the integration guide and reserves attestation page have the full detail.

Is MYRT regulated?
MYRT is not regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia. Reserves are held in segregated accounts. Statutory payroll obligations (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, LHDN) are filed by HR or EOR partners, not by MYRT itself.
How is the conversion rate decided?
MYRT does not convert any currencies. All such conversions are done through Payment Service Providers each having their own rates. The payslip sees only the Ringgit equivalent, so the worker, the employer, and the auditor all see the same number.
Can I receive MYRT if I'm a foreigner working in Malaysia?
Yes, if you're a De Rantau pass holder or hold an Employment Pass with a local bank account. The HR partner verifies eligibility during onboarding. Workers without a Malaysian bank account can hold MYRT in-wallet but cannot off-ramp through DuitNow.
What happens to EPF and SOCSO contributions on a crypto salary?
The HR partner files them exactly as for any other Malaysian salary. The contract amount in USD or EUR is converted to MYR at the BNM rate, the partner deducts employee EPF (11%), employer EPF (13%), SOCSO, EIS, and PCB tax, and the net amount is what gets minted as MYRT. The worker sees full contributions in their KWSP i-Saraan record from the first cycle.
What chains does MYRT support?
MYRT is live on Ethereum and Polygon. The HR partner routes the mint to whichever chain matches the worker's wallet. Cross-chain bridging is handled at the wallet layer, not at the payroll layer, so the payslip stays clean.
How fast does the off-ramp settle?
Same-day for major Malaysian banks via DuitNow, typically minutes after the worker initiates the off-ramp. Other banks settle on the next DuitNow window, generally within a few hours during banking days.
Can I hold MYRT as savings instead of off-ramping?
No Malaysian bank has undergone bankruptcy and closed down, so holding money in Malaysian banks is considered safe. There's no reason to hold MYRT for savings purposes, as MYRT does not pay savings interest or provide yield.
How do I, as an HR partner, integrate?
Start by contacting us! The integration is typically a 2 to 4 week engineering effort for a partner already running compliant Malaysian payroll. Contact us for the integration guide and the launch cohort details.

Ready to make payroll
compliant?

Whether you're an employer hiring talent in Malaysia, an HR or EOR provider, or a worker wanting clean, traceable income, MYRT is being designed to support it all.
